The San Diego Wild Animal Park offers a fun day as I found out last December. Not only can you check out all kinds of animals but they had something there that I had been wanting to try for a long time. A zip line! First you have to have some training on how to hold yourself up and how to come in for a landing. They even give you a short test flight. But the real zip part of it was quite an adventure. You have to get in a truck with your gear and they take you very high up on a hill. So high up you feel like you are flying already! When we reached the top, the valley below actually looked like Africa. You walk onto a VERY high platform and step onto a box. The people there were very nice and helped out a great deal. Once you are all hooked up and ready for flight, you will have butterflies in your stomach. It was intimidating to be that high up. They will unlatch you and off you go! At first I was scared and nervous but once I started looking down at the Rhinoceros, Giraffes and so many other animals, it was very surreal. If you aren’t afraid of heights and can do a few simple moves, I highly recommend doing this. It cost $40.00 to get into the park and then $70.00 for the flight. Try it out and then leave me some comments. I’d love to hear about your adventure!
